[Right, they're in the library, aren't they? They may as well take advantage.]
I enjoy reading anything that has to do with theater, naturally! Plays and shows, but also the theory and craft that goes into making them behind the scenes.
Ha... "storied" is one word for it. [He really knows no other life, though.] They weren't really crime scenes, but more like... "cold cases." Finding clues that hinted at deeper conspiracies or missing persons.
[He is making this sound SO much more intricate than the reality. Someone told him to go to X place, find X thing, basically.
BUT THE LITTLE MERMAID THO-]
Wait, really? Who played the mermaid? And were you the prince?
[What a strange mix of emotions. Tsukasa is so unflaggingly earnest about it (again, unsurprising), that P feels both glad and weirdly embarrassed by the quickness of this offer. Like it doesn't even matter that he's a puppet from a wildly different world — he just wants a friend to attend.]
[His eyes finally lift, still feeling oddly self-conscious but also excited for this prospect of the future.]
Okay. I'll look forward to it... I-
[How to say it?]
I'm grateful for being given a chance to live, you know. How could I not? Even if my world is the way it is. But... it would be nice to visit yours and not have to worry... all of that. Just for a little bit.
[To have it all looming, existing within a city long fallen apart. Even if that's a little selfish of him — after all, it's human to want. They've already come to that conclusion.]
After the performance, I can meet all your friends. And you can show me around.
Tsukasa tilts his head a little, meeting Pinocchio's eyes as he does.]
You're always welcome! At any time, I assure you. I'll gladly introduce you to my friends and family, show you the sights... we could play piano again as well!
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to experience those things!
[His smile widens, truly grateful. He feels warm to hear such things, in a strangely bittersweet way — as though knowing that his own world might never be in such a happy state is sorrowful knowledge, but contrasting that with having a friend who is willing to indulge him in theirs... Well. It makes for a strange feeling. Probably yet one more human feeling.]
Thank you, Tsukasa. We really need to focus on getting out of here in one piece, then, so we can make it happen.

[... Which is very hyper-specific, so:]
I also enjoy detective novels and fairy tales!

Oh, I did detective work once.
[(Not really.)]
Like that famous one from the foggy city.
[(When you come from a world where literary figures are real. This is very meta for me, the player)]
And fairy tales are fun, too. There's a book in here about a mermaid who wanted to become human. [RELATABLE]

[???]
Like... proper detective work? Investigating crime scenes and the like? You've lived such a storied life, Pinocchio!
[Gosh........
He perks up at the fairy tale referenced, though.]
Ah, the Little Mermaid! That is one of my troupemate's favorite fairy tales, actually! We performed it ourselves once.

[So proud of himself... even though it's obvious casting...]
Nene, our incredible songstress, played the Little Mermaid! Her singing kept the audience absolutely spellbound!

He imagines, with a troupe as talented as Tsukasa's must be, that it must've been such a whimsical production worthy of any well-told fairytale.
A little wistfully:] I wish I could've seen it.

[Firmly, confidently, without hesitation.]
I don't know yet what it will be, but I promise it will be an experience that you can't help but smile at!

Really?

[He's sparkling at the thought, honestly.]
I would love to have you attend!
no subject
Oh... I... I want to. I'd love to.

And of course, just as unfailingly enthusiastic and earnest, Tsukasa is all beaming smiles.]
Wonderful! You won't be disappointed, I promise!
[Besides which... Pinocchio deserves something nice like this, doesn't he?]
Once we've gotten through this mess, we will figure out the rest of the logistics!

Okay. I'll look forward to it... I-

[At the very least, this conversation has only rekindled his certainty as well.
It never faded, but... well. It helps. It helps that they both have this assurance together.]
And I'm confident we both will.
[But he stands, finally, nodding.]
I should check in with my dormmates. I would hate to cause them concern. You'll be alright?
[It was Tsukasa who needed the comfort but it's fine, let's not think about that.]
no subject
Yeah, I'll be fine. I'm going to find a few more things to read, so I'll be here for a while longer if you need me.
